Thursday, November 23, 2023 - I had read many of the recent tasting comments, all mentioning 4 hrs of decanting was needed. I was prepared for this, but still frankly surprised with how closed, almost acrid this wine was upon opening. Bottle cellared carefully, cork was in pristine condition. After 2 hrs, it still tasted the same, so moved it to a wide open container. By hour 3 it indeed began to blossom and after 4-5 hours was fantastic. All the notes of fruit, leather, depth, that one would hope for. Chemistry at work.
