Monday, August 14, 2023 - Tasted at Chateau Phelan Segur, wine #2. The most preferred vintage in comparison to 2014/17 tasted together. Feels more intense, with riper tannins softer structure. Made from a blend of 53% CS and 47% Merlot aged for 16 month in 50% new oak. Intense floral aroma of violets, wild flowers, spices, smoke, cassis, wet earth, hint of mushrooms and pencil box. Medium+ body, silky soft and elegant structure, delicately layered flavours of smoky and toasted cassis, touch of chocolate and earth, fine grained tannins.
