First sip was weirdly rich and somewhat off balance. Tasted side by side with same vintage DuMol Ballard cab - which was fresh and delicious from the moment if was poured and just kept getting better. After an hour or so the TR seemed to settled down but with a pronounced wood someday/toasted oak nose you might expect from a rich Cal cab?. The wine needs to be decanted and wait a little - now after a few hours it’s delicious just not sure what to make of its future.
