Thursday, May 20, 2004 - Light garnet colour to a slight orange rim. Gorgeous legs. Aromas of truffles, old saddle leather, spice, earth, cherries, dried rose petals, tar, and a hint of licorice. Medium-full bodied; an unreal wine. Tannins are perfectly integrated and the wine shows spice, leather, roses, earth, truffles, and orange rind on the palate. Long, long finish, ~50-55s, showing cherry and spice notes. Giacomo Conterno said this is easily a 50 year wine. An absolutely unbeliveable experience.
