Monday, September 14, 2015 - Medium-deep lime green color. Quite expressive, smoky and rather dry nose with aromas of ripe golden currants, some whitecurrants, a little bit of earthy spice and a hint of herbal green character. The wine is dry, moderately full-bodied and pretty structured on the palate with noticeably ripe yet very intense flavors of tart citrus fruits, some stony minerality, a little bit of smoky character, light quinine bitterness and hints of fresh apples and whitecurrants. High, almost racy acidity. The finish is rich, moderately bitter and quite long with dry, mineral flavors of tart green apples, fresh whitecurrants, some chalky minerality, a little bit of ripe white fruits and a hint of concentration.

A nice, firm and crisp Sancerre with great focus and lovely ripeness which doesn't compromise any of the racy freshness of the wine. I enjoy how the wine shows more crunchy white fruit qualities than too prominent grassy herbaceousness or aggressively vegetal characteristics that seem to be more typical with new world Sauvignon Blancs. Nice stuff.
