Friday, August 21, 2015 - Aromas of black fruit and cherry and prune popped out of the bottle when I opened it. dark color. light rim, started to close but layers of complex fruit earth totally balanced and ethereral for the entire meal. extremelyy long finish . it was spectacular. lush. and deep. with many years to go but I am so happy I enjoyed it now.

8/22/2015 7:00:00 AM - I never decant my wines. it will shake them up. I open the wine Pour one glass I place a slow pourer on the bottle and Let it open open . I was shocked how amazing it was on opening. it did start to close alittle but during the meal it kept on opening again it was wonderful. with still a long finish but fantatic I store my wines in a 52degree celler. It was better than the 1985

8/22/2015 7:27:00 AM - I'm always facinated at those who don't decant there Wines. Glad you enjoyed in no the less. This wine needs 12-18hrs decanting. 1982 if you have one today needs 24hrs. In fact if time is on your hand then Dble Decant after 5hrs. Was at Mouton this past June and they told me 82 and 86 will outlive us all and needs lots of air. They suggest 8hrs or more.

8/22/2015 8:31:00 AM - 1998 is appouchable today with about 5-6hrs Decant. I fact is far more approachable than 1995 or even 1996. 2000 is one I would hold on for another 7-10yrs. Depending how many you have maybe Dble Decant for 5hrs. 1998 will also benefit from a few more years as well.
