95 Points

Thursday, January 28, 2010 - Even though I have had this NV wine for about 4 years, it still tastes fresh and vibrant. Orange peel, molasses and baked, sweet raisin nose that I remember from childhood but am having a hard time fully placing. Was it mom's rice pudding (with raisins) baking or something else? Anyhow, very vibrant, creamy, chocolate flavors, quite sweet but not cloying. Viscous and mouth-coating with a finish that goes on and on. Beautiful and this bottling has plenty of life left. Not showing any oxidation, fading or age even though the original solera was presumably vintage 1927. In this case, the critics nailed it.
