Wednesday, November 15, 2017 - Tart orange, white peach (almost white cherry) and a mix of citrus qualities on the nose. Close to medium bodied (8.5% ABV) and opened at 44F (which was too cold), warming to 52F and improved all the way. All white fruit upfront (lemon, grapefruit, white peach) adding density through the middle where it starts to open up ever so slightly. Then the impressively electric acidity comes in along with strong lime, lemon and green apple. It doesn't clamp down on the fruit, but rather, kicks it into a higher (if more tart) gear. Finishes with very good length and lingering mineral and floral qualities. Yes, I opened this about 12-18 months too soon, but wanted to see if this wine lived up to its billing while it was still possible to buy more. In a word, the answer is YES. Between the fruit and the acidity, this wine should continue to improve over the next few years. Next bottle in November 2018.
