Saturday, November 18, 2017 - Decanted for over an hour. Dark ruby-garnet in colour. Has a deep nose of dusty and earthy plums and berries; hints of ripeness of the fruits are noticed. On the palate, there are ripe and unripe plums with dark minerally herbs with some hints of black peppers at the end; grainy tannins are noticed but not too intrusive. If I only have one word to describe this wine, it would be "provincial"(to me, rustic minus the barn funk). Medium bodied with a medium finish. This is supposed to be how traditional CdPs were like which made me wish I'd known of this region way way earlier in my wine journey.
