Surprisingly pale and youthful light green color for a wine almost 20 years old. The nose feels fine-tuned and delicate with sweet, developed aromas of wizened yellow fruits, some petrol, a little bit of ripe quince, a hint of dried peach and a toasty touch of oven-fresh custard pastry. The wine is semi-sweet, full-bodied and pretty balanced with moderate acidity. There are nuanced, developed and complex flavors of beeswax, some peachy stone fruits, a little bit of aged Riesling's creaminess, hints of stony minerality and a touch of dried pineapple. The finish is pure, juicy and complex with nuanced flavors of ripe red apples, some sweet lemon curd notes, a little bit of developed creaminess, hints of honeyed richness and a touch of slatey minerality.

A beautiful, rich and harmonious Riesling that is in a beautiful phase right now, but is also surprisingly youthful for a wine almost 20 years old. Although the wine is starting to show the first signs of tertiary characteristics, I still doubt it is on its plateau of maturity yet - most likely it will take another 5-10 years for this wine to reach its apogee. Overall very lovely and harmonious effort, good value at 20€.
