Sunday, April 24, 2005 - When I drank this wine last year, shortly after release, I thought it was one of the best young California Cabs I had tasted - soft, velvety, packed with fruit and an incredibly long finish. Last night's bottle was considerably more closed . The nose and fruit had both shut down somewhat, although the velvet mouth feel remained. Very pronounced, rather bitter tannins at the finish. I shall wait about three years before opening my next bottle.
