Thursday, February 23, 2023 - Same bottle as Melvin. Bottle in mint condition with bottom neck fill and a clean and still dry cork top. While not corked the wine had picked up particularly on the nose a lot of those musty notes one sometimes gets in older Bordeaux from the 60s and 70s. I get them more often in completely soaked corks but perhaps it was simply the barrels that were not clean. Sometimes they blow off but not tonight. Anyway, beneath the taint seemed to be a solid Pauillac with still with some good fruit and a structure. NR
