Friday, December 24, 2010 - Medium ruby, lighter at rim. Opened 3 hours before pouring. An initial whiff of prune and port was worrisome but disappeared by time it wound up in the glass. At that point, gorgeous melange of red berries, caramel, and some late menthol. Perfect weight (i.e., not as fat as I had complained last time), in fact, quite elegant, excellent purity of fruit, and little in the way of remaining tannins. I was too hard on the prior bottle; this was a beauty and seemed to be drinking at its peak.
