Sunday, April 16, 2017 - As far as heavily extracted, densely fruited, well oaked, and massively alcoholic (reported 15.8 abv, but it came off hotter) wines go, this was moderately palatable. It overpowered a richly prepared steak frites, knocking unconscious more than a few of my taste buds in the process. Many New World producers make wine's in this style, and being devoid of terroir-markers, the wine lacks sense of place. I would like to taste this ten years from now, in the hope that it evolves into something interesting.
