Thursday, January 2, 2020 - Overall, I think this needs a lot more time.
Day 1:
Initial impression upon opening was a tart cherry mess.
5 hours of decanting, and that didn't change, so back into the bottle it went.
Day 2:
Another 5+ hours of air in a wide decanter, and little change.
Back into the bottle.
Day 3:
Ok, so it is different, but still not open or pleasing. The tart cherry is way down, replaced with much darker fruit notes and a good deal of oak that wasn't there before. Drinkable, but not what I want (and almost always get) from SQN.
Going to wait at least a year before my next bottle.
