Sunday, October 3, 2021 - Vinetasters: 2001 Châteauneuf-du-Pape et al. (Skokie, IL): Served double blind. Clearly California chardonnay. Buttery, extraordinarily oaky, and bitter on the palate. No acidity. Oily and thick with some butterscotch and popcorn on the palate as well. Mercifully not too much alcohol, but just not good.
