Saturday, February 18, 2023 - Exactly what we expected- rich, unapologetic, delicious. Compared to a 2018 Blue Eyed Boy, this was both a little more expressive and a little more "complex", although also was a little less "balanced" for the style, with more aggressive heat poking out. Blackened nose with baked plum and toast, plus some slight earthy tones, kind of between cedar/dill (American oak?) and that Cabernet cigar thing. Very rich and warming on the palate, with enough fruit to feel deliberate. I've haven't been "blown away" by a Mollydooker wine yet, but I've enjoyed all the ones I've tried (hoping to check out Carnival of Love soon.)
