Friday, April 1, 2005 - Served with blackened, wild King salmon and haricot verts. Decanted for 60 minutes. Wow...now this is a seriously delicious and noteworthy CA pinot! On the nose, at first, there was an odd smell that reminded me of broccoli or brussel sprouts. This blew off fairly quickly though, and after some time in the decanter, there were lots of wonderful red fruits and allspice. On the palate, superbly balanced spicy raspberries and red fruits, followed by a long 20-second finish. Again, the balance was spectacular--fruit and tannins in lovely harmony. This one is special right now, but I think another 6-12 months will add even another point for me.
