Monday, April 1, 2024 - Last bottle of this vintage- we now move back to the 2009. As I stated before this has turned out to be a very good year for this wine. It is very Rioja and a lovely accompaniment to roast pork. Decanted for 30 minutes which allowed the smoky barbecue meat flavour to emerge after dinner. No need to hurry this one.

4/6/2024 9:22:00 AM - I have 2 bottles of the 2004 at home. Its good to know they are developing very well! I am trying the Faustino 1 2011 and its not bad a traditional 91/92 and for 18 Euros decent value here! Its always a question when do you open your older bottles and with whom?

4/6/2024 10:36:00 AM - Hi MJ. Yes the Faustino I GR has always been a good value wine and the 2011 should be drinking well now. As for Muga SE the 2004 is also an excellent vintage. I find Rioja can age very well indeed, as well as much Claret. I still have some 2001 GR but most of my best Rioja is 2009 and. 2010 which I aim to enjoy over the next decade or more
