Sunday, November 1, 2015 - Decanted and drank during a long diner of skirt steak and fall vegetables. With a fairly astringent nose with some reluctant fruit in the background, I feared that I would not relive the pleasure I got three years ago. But the wine soon got it's footing, with a sharpness that cut through to balance with the food, coupled a mellow loam and earthy fruit in the mid palate, and a long finish where the components reverberate in counterpoint. Food is a must with this still vigorous wine. If I had another bottle, I'd revisit in 3 or 4 years wit the hope that the astringency mellowed a bit, or drink now with a sharp, earthy meal.
