Exquisite nose displaying sweet candied red fruit, raspberry candy, a hint of delicate stewed tomato, beautiful sous bois, row shiitake, black truffle, smoked meat, light caramel, light soy and mineral. Perfectly integrated refined palate, beautiful subtle candied red fruit in the background, airy yet good intensity, perfect amount of acidity and mineral, no noticeable tannins and a long subtle candied red fruit driven finish with sous bois and soy at the end. It is delicate yet expressive and energetic. Some participants thought the 80 is a weak Burgundy vintage. It is simply wrong as it is perhaps the second best vintage of the 80s. A great example of perfectly mature wine of the domaine.
