Tuesday, August 15, 2023 - Second time we have this wine this year (Papies 91 last time 4 month sago or so) and was a lot better this time and really was such a beautiful experience and albeit dominated by the nose of this wine we forgive it the short finish.
Avoid decanting here as the wine is fragile.
The nose is ever so classic, rich smoky , roast meat, tertiary dark fruit and herbs along with a well earthy feel too. Exceptional nose and would give top end Cote-Roties/Hermitages a run for their money especially adjusting for price. On the palate it is soft and well matured but still healthy and alive. Just a touch short on the finish but what a beautiful wine ( well beautiful specific bottle). 93
