Wednesday, November 7, 2018 - 2018 Villa d’Este Wine Symposium – Kelly, RJ, Justin and Kevin's excellent adventure; 11/7/2018-11/11/2018 (Villa D’este, Lake Como): Justin bought this in the afternoon from a local wine shop. Very pale, almost green. Very fresh mineral driven youthful nose displaying subtle coiled white fruit, grapefruit apple, strong marzipan, a hint of flint, sesame, white pepper and wet stone. Very good concentration, coiled dense white fruit, good acidity, cool and fresh, strong steely mineral and a medium to long coiled white fruit driven finish with sesame and marzipan at the end. The fruit is subtle and almond paste and sesame dominate the expression. According to Chiara Pepe, the 14 was an excellent cool growing season and the wine clearly expresses it.
