Friday, July 24, 2009 - Day 1: Wow. Unfortunately, the previous tasting note is pretty accurate. Decanted for 3 1/2 hours and tasted periodically. Hot. Overly oaked. Disjointed. All in all awful. Undrinkable. Poured back in the bottle and will revisit tomorrow. Is this simply indicative of the vintage or the overall ageability of these wines in general? They seem to drink well upon release.

Day 2: The alcohol has subsided, but all that's left is stewed overripe fruit and little else. A huge disappointment.
