Thursday, December 24, 2009 - Decanted for 4 hours. First taste immediately after opening was rather surprising as it seemed quite ready to drink. Deep purple to the rim, exotic nose of incense, black and blue berries, spices, and creosote. A hint of leather? Full bodied with smooth tannins, long finish that completely lives up to the promise from the nose. After some hesitation given prior reviews suggesting further aging, this bottle absolutely convinced me of QC's greatness.
