Sunday, July 17, 2022 - Bright, deep ruby with significant rim variation. Drink now. Medium extract and viscosity. Powerful nose with dried, tart red fruits and Asian spices, some forest floor. No wood presence. Low tannin and high acidity, medium alcohol with a round, full texture. Dried cherry, clove, cumin, nicely balanced but the acidity stands out in the extended finish. Cool climate, new world pinot with age-enabling balance. Moderate complexity. Premier cru level. Sevens Bench is a 220' treeless elevation in sight of San Pablo Bay which means sun and fog. Russian River Valley is more fruit forward; Sonoma Coast more mineral and acidity. Delicious.
