Friday, September 4, 2020 - Dark color for a Riesling of this age - golden yellow. Nose is rubber, lime, spritzy-fresh, unripe pineapple, spiced pear, some pine, a little smooth-sweet character like light brown sugar. Palate is soft on entry, a little hot and bitter in the middle, but builds to a medium-high-acid, juuuust slightly off-dry, moreish finish, savory at the end. A nice domestic expression of Riesling. In an affordable category it’s not a stellar QPR, but was very nice tonight with Vietnamese food. 13.5%, $19.50.
