This is a dense deep petite sirah with lively red to black fruit. There is also tobacco and earth, but the fruit is the focus here. Three of us found this wine to be relatively balanced for such a monster. 2 others were significantly annoyed by the alcohol. I felt the alcohol was balanced by the fruit, but obviously YMMV.
