Sunday, May 7, 2017 - By the color and first sniff, a negligent wine drinker would mistake this as a cool climate Chardonnay. But when more concentration and effort is put in, the nose starts to show subtles notes of lemongrass, tomato leaf, unripe grapefruit and loads of wet river stone. Very tricky stuff. But the palate is the place where you prove yourself. Dry, with a gorgeous creaminess coming from the light lees contact. High, crisp acidity which is a tad off, but still carries the wine into a colossal finish dominated by green apple and a perfect reflection of the Central Vineyards soils (read: MINERALITY!!!). Very good wine with a sizable price tag (22 EUR) which makes me think is this Sauvignon Blanc from 2014 really worth so much money? To be continued...
