Wednesday, June 18, 2014 - Expected it to be towards the end of its drinking window, but it was still very deep and intense. Medium acid, medium (-) tannins, so could still go for a bit more. Dark fruits - lots of blackberrry, tinge of dark cherry, tinge of blueberry - dominate, with notes of black pepper. Finish had a slight intense, bitter note, which may mellow with a few more years. Saved half a bottle to be consumed 2 days later.
