91 points is to much for my opinion.

10/11/2017 2:37:00 PM - Thank you for your comment. The one thing I like about Cellar Tracker is the opinions are usually from individuals that like wine, not professionals or those with agendas. I drink and enjoy a lot more wine then I review. I do not drink a lot of Chianti, but have preferred Brunello and Barolo with my favorite Italian being the super Tuscan Sassicaia. We spent seven days in September staying and exploring Tuscany usually drinking two different Chiantis at lunch and at least two at dinner every night. I lost count of the wines we sampled at the vineyard tastings. This was one of the better ones we drank and I realize Chiantis are not known for a true long finish (minute +), so I should have said it had a long finish for a Chianti. I counted 35 seconds for the finish. Every bottle is different and our experience of drinking this while in Tuscany might have helped. Please tell me some Chiantis you think are better and I would love to try them.

    Chianti can be fantastic!

San Giusto a Rentennano (Gaiole) is a great producer. They also produce IGT Percarlo, made from 100% sangiovese grapes.

Val delle Corti (Radda) is also a great producer.

And ofcourse Castell' in Villa (Castel nuovo Berardegna) is a great producer.

The Chianti Colli Senesi of Pacina (Castel nuovo Berardegna) is great and wild.

    We are also Nebbiolo lovers.
Did you try the Etna Rosso wines? That is great value for money.

    Kind Regards,

    Joost en Tamara.

10/13/2017 9:36:00 AM - Thanks again, I have listed the wines on my personal wish list and so far, research shows they are hard to find in the US. I will keep looking. We knew Italy was more than one trip, so we we figure we have to visit at least two more times to see and experience the Country. If I don't find the wines in the US, I will make sure to get them when we return to Italy. We bicycle a lot and did not have time to do any biking, so also plan to do that on the next trip. Great wine, great bicycling and great food- doesn't get any better for us.

    Best, Alpha L
