Saturday, February 13, 2021 - Decanted for about 2 hours. The wine continued to open up as it was consumed over the subsequent 2 hours. Unmistakable sangiovese nose: bright cherries with an herbal undercurrent. The nose really started to show after the decant plus an additional hour. The palate was still quite tannic, borderline astringent. This wine will probably show better in 2-3 years. Ultimately a solid, but not extraordinary bottle; quite nice with steak and accompaniments, however.
