Friday, April 10, 2009 - Dark purple/black. Nose is somewhat reserved, and while shows good complexity, or the potential for complexity, the aromas of cassis, currant, tobacco and minerals still seem fairly primary. Not much secondary development yet. Palate is quite full bodied, with immense amounts of material, yet the wine seems nicely balanced. Full texttured palate, tobacco, cassis, and minerals. Big, but balanced. Tannins have definiely softened. Very impressive wine, but I don't perceive it as complex at this point. Has great potential, and while it was very enjoyable with New Yorks, this should improve with time. Loively wine.
