Thursday, May 30, 2019 - This wine was amazing!

The bottle was removed from the wine cellar an hour before opening and sat for another 1/2 hour opened before serving. The color was ruby with a corona of bright red. The nose was full of fresh red fruit. No discernible alcohol odor present in this very young Pinot. The first taste reminded me of dark red cherries I used to eat off the old cherry tree next door every summer evening of my youth.

A minimum amount of tannin was present but seemed to integrate as I swallowed such that the finish was velvet, yet strong! The finish stayed with me for over 30 seconds. Over the next hour the tannin completely integrated and the wine became warm and powerful as it approached room temperature. Astonishing body for a Sonoma Pinot. The remainder of the bottle was consumed with my bone-in Rib Eye to add delicious company to my Steak and Fries.
