Wednesday, March 31, 2021 - Tasted blind. Quite a bit of bricking, on the pale side. Nose: very pretty, sweetly floral (dried and fresh), lightly medicinal (fresh), slightly unripe banana peel, dark fresh and caramelized fruits, fully mature. Tannins nicely smoothing out, still medium in intensity though, medium acid, very good integration. Great balance, light and pretty. Others would say "lacking in concentration". Guessed left-bank from the 90s. On the reveal, I noted that this is less concentrated than the other vintages of Lynch-Bages I have had from that decade - certainly 1990 and 2000; maybe closer to 1997. Lovely wine, if not deeply profound, and happy to have a bottle in very good shape. $153.
