Wednesday, March 2, 2022 - [Tasted Blind] This wine pours medium garnet, with light bricking. The nose is expressive and complex showing sweet cedar, celery, green bell pepper, tobacco, plum, red cherry, and light amounts of sawdusty new oak that is not totally integrated. The palate enters on the sweet red fruit augmented by tannin that is medium plus and really turns quite bitter and new oaky. The finish is quite nice showing a lovely sweet cedar character the lingers nicely. I wish this wine had been hit with a little less new oak, but otherwise it is lovely. I guessed 1998 Right Bank Bordeaux due to the plush plummy fruit.
