Thursday, October 19, 2023 - Judgement of Eagan (Jason's house): Very similar to a bottle a year ago, just a touch subdued this time around. Maybe because it was paired with a 2010 Bonneau du Martray Corton Charlemagne. This really was fantastic in a full-bodied california chardonnay well. Unctuous mouthfeel, spicy complexity and enough lime/acid to keep it balanced.

10/23/2023 7:30:00 PM - I am popping one in 2 weeks, did you decant? Last time I had this, about 3 years ago, I decanted for 8 hours and still closed down. I do like my Chard a bit older so always like to get some air in these..

10/24/2023 5:49:00 AM - This was not my bottle, but I don't think it was decanted. We have decanted Marcassin chardonnay's in the past, and like your experience, it didn't really do much. I've had older ones and they definitely get more butterscotchy and savory. So if you prefer older chardonnay, I'm afraid that you're stuck waiting 10+ years. :(
