Tuesday, October 18, 2011 - A bite with Barquin (28-50, London): very smooth, mellow, sweet fruited nose. A touch of fat and lots of complexity. A little more austere and classical on the palate. Nicely mineral. A touch of graphite and something slightly earthy. Fragrant, a touch lactic, a sense of the fireside at Christmas. Complex, long, lovely. ****1/2
