Saturday, August 16, 2008 - Popped about 3 hrs before drinking. The nose is so inviting with a blend of Provençal herbs and dark fruit that we both sniffed this wine for 5-10mins before drinking. The entry is silky with layer after layer of dark fruit, ash, minerality, earth with a surprisingly significant but refined tannic structure. The finish is deep and evolving with spice, black pepper, menthol, and mint. This wine has years of life left in it but is really really good right now.
