Wednesday, December 6, 2017 - Made from 90% Merlot and 10% Cabernet Franc, this was a cheerful wine drunk at a cheerful dinner at our neighbours' place. Bright berry fruit with a savoury complexion and a leafy touch, minerals, underlying roundness, fresh acidity and firm but quite ripe tannins. Would probably not appeal to those reared on ultra ripe fruit but I enjoy a wine like this with food and conversation. Surprised to find a claret showing so approachably at about its second anniversary. Good.
