Monday, March 4, 2019 - 14% alcohol.

Pale, youthful lime green color. Youthful, fruity and rather primary nose with aromas of pear drops, slivered almond, some hay, a little bit of pear marmalade and a hint of sour apple candy. Overall the nose reminds me more of young Italian Verdicchio than a Sauvignon Blanc. The wine is ripe, broad and full-bodied on the palate with quite dry flavors of ripe white peach, sweet red apples, some lemon marmalade, a little bit of juicy pear, light cantaloupe tones and a sappy hint of herbal greenness. Overall the wine is quite round and gentle with its medium-to-moderately high acidity. The finish is lively, ripe and quite rich with somewhat sweet-toned flavors of pear, some juicy golden apples, a little bit of stony minerality, light grassy tones, a hint of cantaloupe and a touch of alcohol.

A very youthful, rich and weighty Sauvignon Blanc with big body, rather noticeably high alcohol and somewhat atypical flavors for the variety. Overall this is a good, fruity wine, but not a particularly memorable wine nor one I'd associate with a Pouilly-Fumé. Feels rather pricey for the style at 24,90€.
