Thursday, January 24, 2019 - per back label, dry-farmed, organic grapes grown by the Pierce Family, at an elevation of 1,000 feet. 12.7% abv.

opaque dark violet color.
Nose dark fruited, pleasing intensity.
Palate initially a vanilla flavor with dark fruits, but as it sits open for a couple of hours, a pronounced cranberry acidity comes through and the vanilla fades almost completely, and an earthy flavor comes through more noticeably. Faintly astringent tannins on the finish but not in an unpleasant way, just balancing the acidity and fruit.

The acidity/low ABV was surprising and welcome, and serves well to cut through a rich meal. Could see this aging well and interestingly. 92 pts with upside
