Saturday, September 29, 2018 - Deep and brooding, this wine in at a nice point with 17 years to develop. Brick in the middle with purple and garnet on the rim. Rich, milkshake texture with noticeable tannins that haven’t precipitated out just yet. Earthy, peaty notes dominate the nose along with allspice and just a touch of clove. Palate is hedonistic with the almost rustic texture and creaminess. Palate adds a smoky, black licorice, overripe berry note. Add some cocoa and a long finish and you have an amazing wine.
