Wednesday, January 17, 2018 - Opened 30 minutes before tasting. Young and grapey in color. Fairly simple nose of red cherry and licorice extends to the palate. A small bit of structure totally overpowered by over-the-top acidity. Short finish, nearly no tannins. Another disappointing vintage, not sure what's going on here...different winemaker vs. my own changing palate vs. bad series of years vs. a conscious choice to go down market, but this isn't the exceptional wine I remember from the late 00s.
