Friday, December 31, 2010 - Tannic monster upon opening; vinturi + decanted for 45 minutes, then double decanted through vinturi again and this beast started to open up (a bit). The oak, the tannin and the acid hid the fruit, even four hours later. Nose was nice, but the flavor profile on the palate doesn't live up to the pedigree. Despite all that, it was rather nice with roasted chicken, fennel and potatoes for NYE...
