90 Points

Sunday, March 6, 2011 - Decanted in the bottle (375ml) for about two hours before serving. Still a nice blood red/ruby color with a bit of bricking at the edges. Wonderful creamy red fruited nose with a perfume aspect to it. Crushed raspberries, sweet black cherry, black currant and a bit of creme de casis. Underneath all of the fruit is some baking spice, sweet oak, tobacco leaf and cigar box. Good fruit on the palate, lacking a bit of depth in the mid-palate but finishes strong, maybe a bit dry. Doesn't seem as polished as the last bottle but still very enjoyable. Maybe a bit of black tea, olive, fig and more of a profound spice note on the back end; all rolled with more raspberries and black cherry. Reminds me of right bank bordeaux in a year such as 01 or 04.
