Tuesday, March 7, 2017 - Oh dear: yet another (slightly) premoxed BDM CC. What an enigma; superb fruit density and structure, and nice stoney minerals underneath but obvious oxidation on the nose and palate.

Another expensive disappointment from this once favourite, which, sadly, I've typically brought out with great trepidation, rather than pride, in recent years. This experience was a luncheon with a highly regarded wine-maker and his wife. The wife tried it once and wouldn't return to the glass because of the oxidation, proclaiming "life's too short..." The winemaker and I kept at ours, struck by the "what could have been..." element apparent from the quality fruit and structure -v- the oxidation.

I've spent thousands of $ (unfortunately, I mean it), for regular disappointment with this maker's Corton Charlemagne vintages from this millenium. With only one 2004 and one 2006 left I'll be relieved to close the BDM chapter of my drinking experience after over 30 years.
