Sunday, February 11, 2018 - 2.5 hour decant. Early and pronounced secondary aromatics- turned soil and rocks, dried herbs, dark spices, dried black fruits. Initially dark, brooding and unyielding on the palate, not showing much outside of its structure, additional air softening the edges, brightening and filling out the fruit. Notes of boysenberry, spices, earth, dried florals, bitter chocolate- densely layered and complex. Fleshy polished tannins, long depth on the finish. Hold or decant 3+ hours.
