Tuesday, December 21, 2021 - One-hour splash decant. During decant, raspberry and leather notes emanated from the decanter. After resting and in the glass: wine was clear; garnet in the bowl lightening to an amber rim with a small clear halo. The nose was wonderful older CdP: leather, mushrooms, forest floor, dried fruits, cedar and spice. In the mouth: tannins had melted into a silky liquid of figs, dried cherries, plum and bamboo. The finish was noteworthy in length and how it ended with some cigar ash. This wine had perfect balance and is at its peak now and for two or three more years. My pal and I really enjoyed this as did the staff with whom we shared it. It was a happy holiday dinner indeed!
