Wednesday, December 20, 2023 - Built like a tank. Extraordinary power and tension with a lithe body. A good preview at this stage. The color has developed somewhat - deeper yellow at this stage. Started out very reductive, after 2 hours with air - lemon verbena, lemon cream, acacia blossoms, judicious barrel spice emerges. This has a very broad and zesty mid-palate - there is an explosion of flavor along with intense chalky dry extract and powdery minerals that at times overwhelms the palate and the senses. At this age, there is also a lot of nervous energy and tension. It will be a treat to follow this/re-taste at the 10 yr mark (2026 or after).
